BID AND GRANT ADVICE
How do I start?
Consulting4London strongly recommends When approaching an application form for a grant, remember unless otherwise requested, you should align your bid with what the granting body is seeking for!.
What do I mean by this?
If for example you had the sole focus of dealing with youths and young people and your organisations goal was to motivate them into achieving great levels of success in life, this in your mind would be a clear picture.
But if you had 2 funding applications in front of you and one was for women and children education and the other was for battered women or victims of domestic abuse do you realize that your project aims are ideal for both ,but require completely different approaches!.
Note
- Funding bodies always receive more applications than they have resources to distribute!
- Funding bodies always receive more quantity as opposed to quality bids!
- Funding bodies have to grant awards to organisations
that meet their objectives best and
not organisations with the best ideas!
- Funding bodies decision making panels are made up of people like you and I, (vacancies are advertised in local newspapers and on their websites)
- Funding bodies realize that there is not enough money going around to combat every social vice, hence value for money is a big issue.
